No7 Fall Skincare and Makeup Releases!

Wanting a new fall look? No7 has come out with some amazing skin care and cosmetics to change up your look for the fall!

I was sent the following products to test for my honest opinion.  They are all affordable and perform very well:

No7 Youthful Vitamin C Fresh Radiance Essence

No7 Restore & Renew Face & Neck Multi-Action Serum ($33.99 (30mL) and $43.99 (50mL) -This serum has five clinically proven results for the face and neck. It adresses concerns of wrinkles, face firmness, and neck crepiness, and is targeted towards women in their 50s and 60s. The serum’s building block technology features the protein-strengthening ingredient Matrixyl 3000 Plus complex found in No7’s existing serum ranges, along with an additional complex of Calcium Amino Acids and Ceramides to help boost epidermal strength.

What I think:  I always apply serum in the morning and evening before moisturizer, so I was happy to try this one.  I haven’t been using it for long, but I have found that my skin tone seems clearer and smoother.  I’m using it on my neck, too and it seems a little firmer. The formula is very hydrating and a little goes a long way.

Available at select Walgreens stores, Walgreens.com, Ulta, Ulta.com, Target and Target.com in September.

No7 Youthful Vitamin C Fresh Radiance Essence

No7 Youthful Vitamin C Fresh Radiance Essence ($24.99 USD) — Smooth and even out skin tone with this new essence and its innovative delivery system. This breakthrough product guarantees to leave skin looking brighter and healthier than ever. In a recent study, 93% of women agreed their skin looked brighter after just two weeks! After first use, skin feels softer, refreshed and more radiant through use of the potent Vitamic C raw ingredient.

What I think: To use this product, you mix the powder in with the essence. This is a glowy combo!  I like using it at night and in the morning my skin looks smooth and bright.

Available at Target, Target.com, Ulta, and select Walgreens and Duane Reade locations in July.

No7 City Light Tinted Moisturizer

No7 City Light Tinted Moisturizer ($14.99 USD) — City-proof your skin this summer. This skin-perfecting tinted moisturizer not only quenches thirsty skin, but is full of skin loving ingredients and No7s innovative Double Defense technology, designed to boost the skin’s natural defenses and neutralize damaging free radicals. Available in three shades: Fair, Medium, and Medium/Dark.

What I think: This multitasker is a great combo of skincare and coverage.  It’s sheer when applied, but covers really well and leaves skin smooth and with a subtle glow.  It doesn’t look like I’m wearing any foundation!  It also has SPF 15 to protect skin.

Available at Ulta.com, Walgreens.com, Ulta, select Walgreens and Duane Reade locations in July, available in Target and on Target.com in August.

No7 Lash Impact Ultra Instant False Lash Volume Mascara

No7 Lash Impact Ultra Instant False Lash Volume Mascara ($10.99 USD) — Push your lashes to their highest potential. With a creamy texture and unique application brush, this mascara will last all day and night. Available in two shades: Black, Brown/Black

What I think:  This mascara not only gives great volume, it curls and lengthens my lashes, too.  This definitely gives a dramatic look!

Purchase “Black” at Ulta.com, Walgreens.com, Ulta, select Walgreens and Duane Reade locations. “Brown/Black” at Walgreens.com, select Walgreens and Duane Reade locations in July.

No7 Stay Perfect Eye Shadow Collection

Achieve flawless eyelids that look perfectly smooth and velvety soft with the new No7 Stay Perfect Eye Shadow Palettes & Trios. With these eyeshadows, you’ll have options that will last you from day to night, without having to worry about fading or creasing.
Palettes ($14.99 USD)– Available in two shade ranges: nude and smoky.
Trios ($9.99 USD)– available in eight shade ranges: Plum, Warm Nudes, Golden Sands, Smokey Grey, Cool Nudes, Emerald Stones, High Seas, and Pink Blossom

What I think:  All of these palettes and trios give a mixture of shimmer and matte shades to create pretty fall eye looks.  The trios are fun because they can fit in a purse or small makeup bag and can give lots of different looks.  The palettes are very pretty and have great color selections.  The pigments are pretty good, they can be layered for more “wow”.

Available at Target, Target.com, Ulta, Ulta.com, and select Walgreens and Duane Reade Locations

Boxycharm Review — August 2017

My very first Boxycharm is here!  I haven’t subscribed to this box before, but I caved when I saw the amazing spoiler of a tarte palette!

Boxycharm is $21 a month and it is a makeup box, which means you receive mostly makeup and tools.  Yes, please!  To subscribe, visit boxycharm.com

There were a few different variations. The products in my August box are:

PUR Pro Eyelashes in Diva – $14

The Beauty Crop #GRLPOWER Liquid Lipstick in Date Night – $15

BellaPierre Gel Eyeliner in Ebony – $15

Royal & Langnickel Moda Pro Brush Set – $26

tarte Rainforest of the Sea Eyeshadow Palette in Volume II – $36

My total box value is $106!  Amazing for a $21 box!

PUR Pro Eyelashes in Diva

I don’t normally wear false eyelashes, but I will probably keep these around for a special occasion or Halloween.  They are pretty.

The Beauty Crop #GRLPOWER Liquid Lipstick in Date Night

I will keep this.  I really like the color.  I usually wear nudes or lighter pinks, but this is good for a nice pop of color.  It also dries quickly and doesn’t budge.  The packaging is pretty, too!

BellaPierre Gel Eyeliner in Ebony

I only wear black eyeliner to go out, and then I like an eyeliner pen.  I will give this to a friend who will use it!

Royal & Langnickel Moda Pro Brush Set

This is a very nice brush set!  The bristles are really soft and I am looking forward to trying them out.  I received the Pointed Brush BMX-130 (good for blush or powder), the Chisel Brush BMX-250 (nice to highlight or contour) and the Crease Brush BMX-430 (for eye shadow).  I will keep these and use them all.  I definitely don’t have one like the chisel brush, so that will be fun to try.

tarte Rainforest of the Sea Eyeshadow Palette in Volume II

This is a beautiful neutral palette!  The colors are a bit shimmery and I think will be perfect for fall.  I also like the size, this can travel well and fit in purses easier than a long palette.  I love tarte and am excited to try it!

So, my first Boxycharm was a hit!  I will use the tarte palette, the brushes and the lip color.  The other two items I might use later or give away.  But, I think this was really nicely curated.

Do you get Boxycharm?  If so, what items did you get in this month’s box and which is your favorite?

Masqueology 24K Gold Collection

Masqueology 24K Gold Group
Have you tried Masqueology beauty products?  I love their masks and was excited to try new products!  I received samples from their 24K Gold-based skincare line.  So exciting!  The products are:

24K Gold Under Eye Gel Masks: 15 pairs ($9.88 USD) of single-use, hydrogel undereye patches with gold and collagen will lift and firm the eye area while reducing the appearance of dark circles. The hyrdrogel increases moisture and elasticity in the skin.

What I think: I love the fun gold tin they are in.  The masks are a light gold and have a mild lotiony scent.  I leave them on for ten minutes or so and they do firm my eye area.  I haven’t seen a difference in my dark circle yet, but will keep using them.

24K Gold Eye Cream  ($10.83 USD) — with Gold and Adenosine will work to lift and firm the eye area while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Also contains anti-aging superstar ingredient Niacinamide.

What I think: This is a firming eye cream that leaves the under eye area looking smooth. I use it all around my eye to keep my lids firm.

24K Gold Serum ($12.72 USD) is an anti-aging formula that promises to give moisture and elasticity to the skin while helping to restore a more youthful complexion. Skin is left feeling smooth and refreshed.

What I think: This serum has flecks of gold in it.  It leaves the skin with a subtle sheen, but not  glitter. The scent when first applied is almost like an old time face cream, but that dissipates pretty quickly. Skin is glowy when applied.

24K Gold Cream ($13 USD) with shimmer is formulated with gold and hyaluronic acid to help hydrate the skin for maximum moisture. Gold pearls give an all-over sun-kissed glow. Key ingredients include Gold, Adenosine, Vitamin A and Vitamin E.

What I think: This cream smells really great! Kind of sweet and citrusy.  The gold in this is fairly noticeable on, but it is since it is rich, it makes a great night cream. So I don’t worry about the glitter. In the morning, my skin is soft and so hydrated.

I have to say that all of the products are beautifully packaged in gorgeous containers, especially for the price point.  They are so affordable for anti-aging products and the gold is a nice touch!  I recommend picking up a piece or two and trying it!

Available at Walmart stores.

My Beauty Favorites — Week of August 7-13, 2017

It is getting hot again here in Kansas City, and humid.  Our backyard is a swamp because it has been raining and the bugs are out, so I say inside.

This has giving me a change to try new products. My faves this week  include two new breakthrough skincare items and a cool foundation:

Philosophy Ultimate Miracle Worker Multi-Rejuvinating Retinol+Superfood Oil and Pads

Philosophy Ultimate Miracle Worker Multi-Rejuvinating Retinol+Superfood Oil and Pads ($75 USD) — the nighttime solution specifically formulated to help combat key signs of aging including lines, wrinkles, discoloration,
pores, roughness, firmness and radiance. this nourishing nighttime formula delivers clinically proven anti-aging power.

What I think:  To use this product, pour the entire bottle over the pads.  Then, this it to be applied every night after cleansing and before hydrating skin.  After using,  skin feels firmer and pores are visibly reduced. This is easy to use and really tightens skin and gives a youthful glow!

Purchase at http://www.philosophy.com

StriVectin Multi-Action Active Infusion Youth Serum

StriVectin Multi-Action Active Infusion Youth Serum ($89 1 oz) –Visibly smooths lines, firms and unifies overall texture. Instantly infuses skin with sophisticated luminosity. Clinically proven to strengthen the skin barrier 2x.

What I think:  First of all, the product in the bottle is so pretty!  This is gorgeous for morning and/or evening use before moisturizer.  Once applied, skin is brightened and looks smooth and clear.  This definitely makes you look younger!

Julep Cushion Complexion

Julep Cushion Complexion 5-in-1 Skin Perfector with Turmeric ($30 or $24 if you are a Julep Maven) — This multitasking skin perfector has a natural, demi-matte finish with buildable medium-to-full coverage that conceals, corrects, illuminates, blurs & brightens. The convenient cushion tip applicator allows for easy and precise application, even on the go. Use it to spot correct and conceal, or all over as a foundation.

What I think:  This product is unlike anything I have tried before!   I received it in my August Maven box.  I have been subscribing for years (I usually don’t review the box, because I only get a couple of items in it a month).

This has a sponge applicator, which is not new, but the fact that this can be a full face foundation is, plus it dries down to a matte finish almost immediately.  If is full coverage and really pretty on. You only get a few minutes of play because it sets too, and I have found that I don’t need finishing powder with it.  There are 18 shade available, so there’s a shade for almost everyone!

GlossyBox July 2017 Review

Hi all!  This is the second of my three GlossyBoxes in my 3 boxes for $30 deal.

That deal is over, but for a limited time, use coupon code COOLVIBES to save 50% off of the August box AND get a free FREE Josie Maran Argan Illuminizing Powder with your first month of GlossyBox!

GlossyBox is a monthly beauty subscription that sends 5-6 makeup, skincare, and hair care products in deluxe or full sizes. It costs $21 per month, less if you purchase 3, 6 or 12 month subscriptions.

This was supposed to be my first box, but I received August before July.  You can read that review here.  Here are the products that I received for July:

Plus an extra not on the fold out —De Bruyere Jumbo Eye Pencil in Bubble 07

Aerin Tangier Vanille Body Wash

Aerin Tangier Vanille Body Wash is a very nice luxury product.  I was very happy to receive it.  I haven’t used it yet and am trying to decide if I should keep it or give it as a nice gift!  I haven’t tried anything from Aerin, so maybe I’ll keep it!

Doucce Freematic Blush

Doucce Freematic Blush with compact.  The color is Summer Sunset.  It’s a pretty coral color.  It has a bit of a pearl finish.  It’s a little bright for me without a tan.

Doucce Freematic Blush Duo

This is the Doucce blush with the shade I got from my August GlossyBox called Pink Beach.  The Pink Beach shade is very light and needs building up to give some color.  It’s okay, but I have better blushes.

NCLA Clean Up Your Act

Sorry that this photo is blurry.  NCLA Clean Up Your Act polish removing pen is my least favorite product in the box anyway… It doesn’t have product in it.  It may have dried out before I received it.  I won’t use this.

The LaRoche-Posay Hydrating Gentle Cleanser is right up my alley!  I’ll save it for a trip this fall or winter.

De Bruyere Paris After-Sun Lotion smells amazing, like being in Hawaii.  It’s a very strong Monoi scent, but I like it. The lotion isn’t very thick, which is good for an after-sun lotion.  It will sink right into the skin. It’s a decent size, too.  1.76 fl. oz.  I will be using this for the rest of the summer.

I will also be using the Dr. PawPaw Original Balm.  When I got it, I used it on my sad cuticles and it instantly made them softer and feel better.  I will be using this on chapped lips, elbows, etc.  It’s fragrance-free.  I like fragrance, but I know lots of people don’t.

De Bruyere Paris Pearly Eyeshadow Pencil

De Bruyere Paris Pearly Eyeshadow Pencil.  Sorry about the blurry photo.  I definitely need a new phone (and better glasses)!  This wasn’t on the information fold-out, but I found it on the GlossyBox website.  It’s a medium shimmery shade and will work well as an eye shadow.  I have swatched it below the blushes:

Here are swatches of the color cosmetics I received.   The first one is the Doucce blush in Summer Sunset, then second is Pink Beach.  And I also have swatched the eye pencil.

I think this was a pretty good box, better than August’s.  I will use most of the products.

Do you subscribe to GlossyBox?  What do you like about it?  I’m trying to decide if I will keep it past the 3 months.  I guess it will depend on my September box. I might do three more boxes to see how the holidays go. We’ll see!

Stay Shine-Free And Glowing This Summer With LORAC!

LORAC Cosmetics is currently one of my favorite brands.  Their color cosmetics are gorgeous and have great staying power.

I was recently sent products to test for my honest opinion that are keeping me fresh and glowing this summer.  They are:

LORAC TANtalizer Buildable Bronzing Powder

LORAC TANtalizer Buildable Bronzing Powder ($32 USD) — Discover your inner glowing goddess with LORAC Los Angeles TANtalizing Buildable Bronzing Powder. Highly pigmented and formulated to offer long-lasting, natural-looking warmth for radiant skin from sun up to sundown. Featuring finishes and hues in matte, satin, high-shine, warm, and cool, there’s a sun-kissed color for every shade of skin.

What I think:  The color above is called Pool Party and it is a light color with a matte finish.  I’m letting my (faux) tan fade away, so this is perfect for lighter skin.  It is warm toned and really pretty on.  I can see myself wearing this in the cooler months when I am pasty white and need some warmth.  It blends really well, too.

These come in 5 shades with different finishes, so if you like a shimmery bronzer — I like both matte and shimmer — there is one for you!

LORAC PRO Blurring Translucent Loose Powder

LORAC PRO Blurring Translucent Loose Powder ($32 USD) — This innovative formula contains natural peppermint and brightens, absorbs oils, and keeps your skin cool and shine-free throughout the day. The silky texture of the finely milled formula applies smoothly and evenly, and helps makeup stay fresh all day by instantly blurring pores and imperfections.

What I think:  I use a setting powder every day, so I was excited to try these powders.  This applies smoothly and doesn’t settle into pores or lines.  I like how it goes on clear and it is not cakey and doesn’t discolor my makeup.  It sets my face and helps the makeup last!

LORAC PRO Blurring Translucent Pressed Powder

LORAC PRO Blurring Translucent Pressed Powder ($32 USD) — This formula is the same as the loose powder, but in pressed form.  Because this paraben-free, weightless formula is translucent, it works on every skin tone and refreshes makeup throughout the day by absorbing excess oils without looking chalky.

What I think:  I love to throw this one in my purse.  Since it is solid, it doesn’t make a mess and is so easy to take out and refresh my makeup. Like the loose powder it applies seamlessly and looks like I don’t have any powder on!

LORAC Alter Ego Hydrating Lip Stain

LORAC Alter Ego Hydrating Lip Stain ($19 USD) — This sexy and playful stain coat your lips in highly-pigmented color and hydrates with nourishing Jojoba Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Shea Butter and Mango Seed Butter for all day pigment, shine and hydration. Embrace your every identity and dress up your lips with LORAC.

What I think:  These lippies are so hydrating, I think they are somewhere between a stain and a tinted lip balm.  They are very pigmented and look like a cream lipstick on, but last a longtime and feel amazing on. They are available in 10 gorgeous shades.  The one shown is Activist, a pretty berry shade.

LORAC products are available at loraccosmetics.com

Have you tried any of these? What’s your favorite LORAC product?  I know they have new Pro Satin Lip Colors and POREfection Complexion Pens that I hope to try.  Here are my reviews of LORAC’s Beauty and the Beast and Pirates of the Caribbean collections.

Brand Review: Nia (Not Into Aging)

I recently was sent samples of a great new (to me) skincare brand called Nia (Not into Aging).

Nia was designed not only to stop early signs of aging, but to help skin withstand all the stressors that come its way like getting little sleep to looking down at your phone.  The product include patented NIA-114 strengthens skin’s moisture barrier and keeps it radiant.

Here are the products in the line:

Nia Fully Charged Serum X Moisturizer

Nia Fully Charged Serum X Moisturizer ($39 USD)–  This potent, serum-infused moisturizer is a supercharged dose of high-impact hydration and nutrients delivered in one simple, power-packed step. Formulated with skin optimizing NIA-114™, this lightweight, breathable formula strengthens the moisture barrier, smoothes fine lines, brightens skin and fights visible signs of aging.

What I think: I love that this is two steps in one.  Especially in the summer when the humidity makes it uncomfortable to have too much on my face.  The one thing is that this is a bit sticky on, especially the first time I used it.  I shook it up the second time and it was much better.  I can see myself using this every day for brighter skin.

Available at Ulta and Ulta.com

Nia Fake Awake Triple-Action Eye Gel

Nia Fake Awake Triple-Action Eye Gel ($36 USD) — This triple-action gel is a power nap for tired eyes, instantly brightening, smoothing and de-puffing.  Light-reflecting optics visibly diminish dark circles, while a blend of skin optimizing NIA-114™ + lifting agents help reduce the look of fine lines.  Formulated to absorb in a flash, with a ceramic tip applicator to cool on contact, so you can fake awake and get on with your life.

What I think: I love eye products that brighten the eyes as they are giving skincare benefits!  I do notice that my dark circles look lighter and brighter.  The ceramic tip applicator is pretty neat, it does cool tired eyes!

Nia Glow On Demand Energizing Illuminator

Nia Glow On Demand Energizing Illuminator ($28 USD) —  This unique, double-duty formula features a breathable matrix of light-reflecting ingredients that brightens and illuminates, restoring natural glow, while a fusion of caffeine and ginger instantly rev up dull, lifeless skin.   Skin optimizing NIA-114™ rehydrates, soothes and smoothes on contact.

What I think:  I really like this.  It gives a really soft glow. I have been using it as a primer under my makeup.  It smooths my skin so my foundation goes on easily and looks flawless.  And a bit of the brightening shines through.

Nia Tech Neck Line Smoother

Nia Tech Neck Line Smoother ($36 USD) —  The repeated motion of looking down at your phone throughout the day can actually cause neck lines.  Keep your neck in check with this lightweight serum and on-the-go massage roller that glides on gently to instantly firm and smooth skin. Skin optimizing NIA-114™ + a blend of lipopeptides help reduce the look of horizontal lines and fortifyskin against Tech Neck.

What I think:  I am pleasantly surprised with this product!  I though it might be sticky like the serum/moisturizer, but it’s not. I love the roller, it feels cool against my skin.  I can apply the product and help it absorb in once step.  And my neck feels a bit firmer with each use.

Nia Wash + Glow Hydrating Cleansing Foam

Nia Wash + Glow Hydrating Cleansing Foam ($22 USD) — Wash away the signs of long days + late nights. Soothing, silky-foam cleanser removes makeup + impurities without stripping skin of moisture to reveal a fresh-faced, natural glow.

What I think:  This hydrating foam cleanser removes all of my makeup without drying it out.  It is easy to use and cleanse day and night.  I like to keep it in my shower.  My skin is glowing and ready for skincare and makeup once I am done!

Nia Sunday Deto Whipped Clay Peel-Off Mask

Nia Sunday Detox Whipped Clay Peel-Off Mask ($36 USD) — This first-to-market purifying foam-to-peel mask is a double detox for skin showing signs of a long week or epic Saturday night.  Rich clay mousse draws our dirt and debris from pores to reduce the appearance of blackheads, then dries to a peel-off mask to lift away dead skin cells for smooth, radiant skin.  Infused with skin optimizing NIA-114™ + exfoliating fruit extracts to reset skin for the week ahead.

What I think:  This is a really fun mask!  I’ve never used a peel off clay mask before and didn’t know what to expect.  It comes out as a mousse and is a bit thin.  I apply plenty so that I can remove it easily.  It only takes about 15 minutes to dry down and peels off quickly.  My skin is soft and my pores are clearer.

These products are available at Ulta and Ulta.com.

Have you tried any Nia products.  Leave a comment and let me know!

GlossyBox August 2017 Review

Hi all!  I used to subscribe to GlossyBox a few years ago, and decided to give it a go again!  At least for 3 months, anyway.  I subscribes with a 3 boxes for $30 deal.

That deal is over, but if you subscribe through August 31st, you can get a FREE Josie Maran Argan Illuminizing Powder with your first month of GlossyBox!

GlossyBox is a monthly beauty subscription that sends 5-6 makeup, skincare, and hair care products in deluxe or full sizes. It costs $21 per month, less if you purchase 3, 6 or 12 month subscriptions.

The first box I was supposed to receive was July.  But, it’s still on it’s way to me, so I am reviewing August. The items I received for August are:

This is my variation.  Some people will receive the Freeman Beauty Infusion Charcoal & Probiotics Cleansing Clay Mask instead of the Rituals product.  I’m not sure what other variations there are, besides different fragrances for the Bliss Body Butter and I believe another shade of blush.  Some subscribers were able to choose their shade of blush, but I wasn’t.  It may have been because I just signed up.

Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara

This is the item I was most excited about trying.  It’s a tiny tube, but I will use it all! This mascara really gives length and volume.  My little lashes looked huge! This is one I would definitely pick up if I’m looking for a high end mascara!

Pixi Brow Tamer

I have tried Pixi products (like their amazing Glow Tonic) before, but not the Brow Gel.  I don’t use a lot of product on my brows because they are thick and dark, but I love Brow Gel to tame them.

This works well!  It sets my brows and doesn’t leave them sticky or stiff.  My brows have stayed in place all day and look really nice.  I will be using this every day to keep my brows neat and tidy!

This is a pan, not a compact.  The July box included the compact and one blush.  This pan is supposed to join the other blush in the compact.  Hopefully I’ll be receiving my July box soon and will be able to complete it.

This shade is called Pink Beach.  It’s a little light for my skin now, but will work well in the winter and spring. It has more of a matte finish and is really pretty.  The pan is small for a blush.  It looks like the size of an eyeshadow.  I will let you know how they work together when I receive the July GlossyBox.

These both smell amazing!  They are deluxe samples, so I will probably save them for vacations or short trips.  I may stick the body butter in my purse.  I always have lotion with me.

These are both nice, but I’ve tried them before and deluxe bath samples doesn’t have a wow factor!

Doctor Babor Hydro RX 3D Gel Eye Pads

Meh.  I have so many gel pads for eyes that I might use them, but probably will give them to a friend.

My favorite items in this box are the Lancome Monsieur Big mascara and the Pixi Brow Gel.  I will use the blush once I receive the compact.

The remaining three products will be gifted or used on trips.

Altogether this is an okay GlossyBox.  I did really miss the sturdy pink boxes, so am happy to have that too!  I am glad I did the deal and am looking forward to my July and September boxes!

Do you subscribe to GlossyBox?  What did you get in your August box?
