GlossyBox July 2017 Review

Hi all!  This is the second of my three GlossyBoxes in my 3 boxes for $30 deal.

That deal is over, but for a limited time, use coupon code COOLVIBES to save 50% off of the August box AND get a free FREE Josie Maran Argan Illuminizing Powder with your first month of GlossyBox!

GlossyBox is a monthly beauty subscription that sends 5-6 makeup, skincare, and hair care products in deluxe or full sizes. It costs $21 per month, less if you purchase 3, 6 or 12 month subscriptions.

This was supposed to be my first box, but I received August before July.  You can read that review here.  Here are the products that I received for July:

Plus an extra not on the fold out —De Bruyere Jumbo Eye Pencil in Bubble 07

Aerin Tangier Vanille Body Wash

Aerin Tangier Vanille Body Wash is a very nice luxury product.  I was very happy to receive it.  I haven’t used it yet and am trying to decide if I should keep it or give it as a nice gift!  I haven’t tried anything from Aerin, so maybe I’ll keep it!

Doucce Freematic Blush

Doucce Freematic Blush with compact.  The color is Summer Sunset.  It’s a pretty coral color.  It has a bit of a pearl finish.  It’s a little bright for me without a tan.

Doucce Freematic Blush Duo

This is the Doucce blush with the shade I got from my August GlossyBox called Pink Beach.  The Pink Beach shade is very light and needs building up to give some color.  It’s okay, but I have better blushes.

NCLA Clean Up Your Act

Sorry that this photo is blurry.  NCLA Clean Up Your Act polish removing pen is my least favorite product in the box anyway… It doesn’t have product in it.  It may have dried out before I received it.  I won’t use this.

The LaRoche-Posay Hydrating Gentle Cleanser is right up my alley!  I’ll save it for a trip this fall or winter.

De Bruyere Paris After-Sun Lotion smells amazing, like being in Hawaii.  It’s a very strong Monoi scent, but I like it. The lotion isn’t very thick, which is good for an after-sun lotion.  It will sink right into the skin. It’s a decent size, too.  1.76 fl. oz.  I will be using this for the rest of the summer.

I will also be using the Dr. PawPaw Original Balm.  When I got it, I used it on my sad cuticles and it instantly made them softer and feel better.  I will be using this on chapped lips, elbows, etc.  It’s fragrance-free.  I like fragrance, but I know lots of people don’t.

De Bruyere Paris Pearly Eyeshadow Pencil

De Bruyere Paris Pearly Eyeshadow Pencil.  Sorry about the blurry photo.  I definitely need a new phone (and better glasses)!  This wasn’t on the information fold-out, but I found it on the GlossyBox website.  It’s a medium shimmery shade and will work well as an eye shadow.  I have swatched it below the blushes:

Here are swatches of the color cosmetics I received.   The first one is the Doucce blush in Summer Sunset, then second is Pink Beach.  And I also have swatched the eye pencil.

I think this was a pretty good box, better than August’s.  I will use most of the products.

Do you subscribe to GlossyBox?  What do you like about it?  I’m trying to decide if I will keep it past the 3 months.  I guess it will depend on my September box. I might do three more boxes to see how the holidays go. We’ll see!

Find Your Perfect Shades of Makeup With No7 Virtual Match Made

Today I’m reviewing a fun app and some gorgeous makeup from No7! Here’s the description of the app and how it works:

No7 just launched an at-home app called the Virtual Match Made. It is based on the success of the complimentary in-store No7 Match Made service designed specifically to help women find the perfectly-matched foundation and color cosmetics for them to flatter every skin tone. The new virtual service helps women find the right foundation, concealer, lipstick and blush shade in the comfort of their own home, all within minutes.

  • Download the app on Apple or Google Play
  • Pick up a No7 Match Made skin tone analysis card at your local Ulta or Walgreens
  • Hold the analysis card against the jaw line (no makeup area) and take three separate pictures of both sides of the face in just seconds
  • Discover the shade that is right for you and view your No7 Match Made choices for foundation, concealer, lipstick and blushes and click over to or find your nearest No7 counter to learn more

I downloaded the app on my Iphone and it’s really fun to use.  The first time I tried, I didn’t get it right (couldn’t figure out how to turn my camera facing me in the app, LOL).  My first color match was Ebony, which is very dark and I am fair!  So, I figured out how to do it correctly, and was matched with Calico, a color that does work for me!  The blush and lipstick the app recommended were colors I love to use, too!

Here are some of the products I was sent with the app card to review:

No7 Airbrush Away Foundation ($17.99 USD) — glides over the skin like liquid silk. It delivers buildable coverage while blurring the appearance of fine lines and pores.Clever optical blurring powders give a velvet yet radiant finish, like your complexion has been placed in to soft focus.

No7 Match Made Powder Blush ($12.99 USD) — The No7 Powder Blushers contain a unique blend of micro-powders for a velvety smooth application, as well as Vitamin E to care and condition.

No7Match Made Bronzer ($12.99 USD) — creates a natural looking healthy glow with a matte finish that lasts all day. The silky soft powder blends and builds effortlessly with your natural skin tone, allowing you to achieve a perfectly bronzed finish.

I love the foundation.  It applies very evenly and gives great coverage.  My skin looks so smooth after use and my pores and lines appear less noticeable.    The blush and bronzer both blend well and give a nice glow.  They aren’t shimmery, which I like.

Have you tried the No7 Virtual Match Made app?  Let me know what you think!
