ColourPop You Had Me At Hello Palette Review

img_0221.jpg

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, can you believe it?  I like to do a makeup look with pinks and reds, or similar colors on Valentine’s Day.  So I thought this would be the perfect time to review this palette!

This is the ColourPop You Had Me At Hello eye shadow palette.  It’s only $18 and comes with a mirror! I purchased this at the end of December in a ColourPop haul.

You can tell by the messy palette that I have been using this palette a lot! The shades are:

The Knot: metallic cool-toned ivory
Moon Struck: metallic soft gold
Two Peas: matte peachy beige
Candygram: metallic pinky red with gold duochrome
Winning Ticket: matte dusty mauve pink
FBO: metallic pink violet
Look-See: matte cool-toned plum
Fool’s Rush: metallic golden bronze
Pulling Strings: matte warm saddle brown
Want U Back: matte dusty mauve brown
DTR: metallic silvery taupe
Sparks Fly: matte deep plummy brown

Here are the swatches:

These shades are all so gorgeous and versatile.  The mattes are really creamy in the palette and all of the shadows are well pigmented.  I think it would be perfect if it had a light, matte shade.  But, this will make a gorgeous Valentine’s look!

Have you tried this palette, or any others from ColourPop?

Ulta Beauty Mini Haul

IMG_0310

Hi all!  I hope you had a great weekend!  I went to Ulta on Saturday because my 20% off coupon was expiring (and I love my sales)!

I just purchased a few things.  The main thing I went in for is the sponge, but I have been eyeing the Anastasia Beverly Hills Prism Palette.

I purchased:

IMG_0313

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge ($5.99) — I purchased this because I just got a new Becca foundation (review coming), and it’s quick-drying and a bit dark/warm for me.  Applying it with my brushes doesn’t really work, but I think the sponge may help give a more natural look.  I have used a beautyblender, but haven’t had one for a while.  This is my first time trying another brand of sponge.  I like that this has a flat edge, I think it will be great for blending around the eyes and the nose.  I’m looking forward to trying this.

My family loves bath bombs and fizzes, so I’ve been wanting to pick up a few of these. They retail for 3 for $5, and the Fig & Honey one was on clearance, that’s why I picked up four.  I just tried the Fig & Honey fizz.  It is very fizzy and very fragrant.  It’s small, but really fun and worth the price!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Prism Eyeshadow Palette — I have been thinking about this palette since it first came out.  It’s on sale for  $32 (down from $42) and I had the $20 off coupon on top of that!  I got it for $25.61 before tax.  So exciting!

I think the colors of this are so different and fun!  There are lots of metallics too, which I love.  I’ll be doing a full review of this after I play with it a while.

Have you purchased anything fun lately?

ColourPop I Think I Love You Palette Review

IMG_0009IMG_0196

This photo cracks me up!  The palette cover is so reflective that it shows my phone!  This is the very shiny ColourPop I Think I Love You eye shadow palette ($16 USD).  I received it in a big ColourPop Haul I did at the end of December.  It’s actually my 18 year old daughter’s.  She let me swatch and review it (I did pay for it)!

img_0011.jpg

These are the shade names, and here are the colors:

The colors all swatched really well and are gorgeous!  My daughter wanted it for the metallic yellow gold color, but I lie the beautiful bronzes and lighter, shimmery colors.  I wouldn’t have picked this myself, but I love it (and will be borrowing it).  I can make gorgeous day and night looks with this!

Do you have any ColourPop palettes?  Which ones are your favorites?

ColourPop Fem Rosa She Palette Review

IMG_0266IMG_0268IMG_0267 I have recently purchased a bunch of Colourpop pressed eye shadow palettes.  I was going to start reviewing them, but I remembered that I hadn’t reviewed my She palette yet!  I purchased it a few months ago and have kept it in the box waiting for a review, LOL!
This is no longer available on Colourpop’s website, but there are many other gorgeous palettes available now.
IMG_0269IMG_0270 The packaging of this is very pretty, I love the reddish color and the roses.  Here are the shades from left to right, top to bottom row:
Ladylike — metallic soft ivory
Babe — satin light peachy pink
Dainty — metallic pinky taupe
Chick — metallic subtle gold
Mademoiselle — metallic rose gold
Gal — metallic red with copper duochrome
Empress — metallic mid-tone pink plum
Filly — metallic rusty orange
Dear — matte warm rose
Missy — matte deep burgundy
Damsel — matte smokey violet
Duchess — matte dusty coral
IMG_0274IMG_0272IMG_0273
As my swatches show, these have really great pigment, especially the mattes.  There are more metallics than mattes.  I’m okay with that, but I really wish there was a light cream matte and maybe a medium neutral matte.  But many gorgeous looks can be made with these.  Plus, with Valentine’s Day coming soon, a romantic pink, red or purpley look will be perfect!
I really am enjoying this palette, and now that I have found it again, I intend on using it more.
Do you have the She palette?  What do you think of it?

Karity Travel Chamber + Single Shadows Review

IMG_0186

I recently received a lovely box of Karity products for my honest review.  You can see my review of Karity’s 15 Nudes & Rudes palette here.

Today, I want to share Karity’s cool Travel Chamber ($12 USD) that can hold up to 9 single eye shadows and 9 fun singles shadows.

Here’s the empty palette:

IMG_0189IMG_0190IMG_0192IMG_0191

This is really easy to fill and it a very portable size, which is perfect for travelling.  It’s heavy duty cardboard and closes magnetically.  It has a nice little mirror, too.

Here are the shadows:

IMG_0187IMG_0188

I received some very bright shades with a few neutrals.  They are $4 each on Karity’s website.  Here are the shadows inside the palette:

IMG_0176IMG_0178

The shades from left to right, starting in the first row are:

One Night Stand (Satin) — Soft gold peach with pearl satin

Confidential (Frost) — Rich cocoa lustre

Unspoken (Velvet) — Dark brown velvet

Baby Habit (Metallic)  Bright pink with icy shimmer frost

Bamba (Matte) — Bright mint green matte

Amoeba (Frost) — True blue with icy shimmer frost

Sanguine (Matte) Vivid bright yellow matte

Viper (Frost) — Vibrant golden green with yellow shimmer frost

Spring Break (Matte) — Vivid pinky orange matte

Swatches:

IMG_0179

The colors swatch well and are highly pigmented.  I especially love the first 4 shades because I will wear them a lot.  The last 5 are unusual for me.  I can see accenting my look with one.  I like the blue in the middle, the teal next to it, and the coral on the end.  I have played around with them and the blend really well and there’s not a lot of kick up in the pan, even though they are really velvety.

I can see myself switching out a few of these for some more neutrals, but the shades I was sent are so much fun to play with!

Karity shadows are very high quality for the price.  I would definitely recommend picking up a few of the shadows to try or purchasing a palette.

Have you tried Karity?  What do you think?

Karity 15 Nudes & Rudes Palette

IMG_0096

I received a Karity 15 Nudes & Rudes palette in the mail a couple of months ago.  I’m thinking that it was for my honest review, but I don’t know who sent it!

I am so happy that I received it, though!  The eye shadows are creamy and very well pigmented.  The palette is $25.  Which is pretty affordable for the quality.   I also received a Travel Chamber, which is like a Z-palette and holds 9 eye shadows.  And I received a colorful selection of single shadows.  I will be reviewing that next week.  I haven’t put it together yet, but I am looking forward to playing with it!

img_0104.jpg

This Nudes & Rudes palette consists of 15 highly pigmented shades in 6 finishes: 5 frost, 3 satin, 2 matte, 2 velvet, 2 metals, 1 duochrome  (Pixiedust on the bottom). It is cruelty free, vegan and paraben free.  There is also a 9 shade and a 21 shade Nudes & Rudes.
Every Nudes & Rudes palette has its own unique colors which just makes me want all of them!
This comes with a mirror, which makes me very happy!

IMG_0103

These are creamy shadows, especially the more shimmery shades.  Here are my swatches:
IMG_0108 From left to right — In the nude, Tiffanie, Tongue Tied, Butterscotch and Princess.
IMG_0118 Moonlight, Good Witch, Sunkissed, Decadence, Centaur
IMG_0121
Newborn, Pixiedust, Rockstar, Persephone, Dark Side.
I’m always more of a fan of the shimmery shades than mattes, but I do like to use mattes in my crease and sometimes on my lid. My favorites are probably Tiffanie, Good Witch and Pixiedust. In the nude is a great base shade and Moonlight is a gorgeous highlight.  The other shades add a really nice depth to whatever look I’m going for.
I was really impressed with this palette.  It may be nudes, but they are not safe or boring.  I guess that’s where the rudes come in!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette Review

IMG_9988

I purchased this palette for myself on Christmas Eve.  Ulta had it on sale for $33 and it was 20% off on top of that. I know I’m probably the last blogger on earth to own this, but I just had to see what all of the hype was about!

IMG_9989

IMG_9990.JPG

This palette normally sell for $42 at Ulta and other beauty stores.  I first want to say I was looking forward to quality in the packaging as well as the shadows, and I wan’t let down.  It’s a heave palette.  I love the velvet dusty pink cover.   I also love that there is a mirror and brush included.  I also want to mention the formula.  It’s really pigmented and rich.  A little goes a long way.  There is kick up in the pan, but I was expecting that from reviews I have read about this brand.  It’s not too bad, though.

The shades are:

  • Tempera (velvety beige w/ an ultra-matte finish)
  • Golden Ochre (earthy yellow w/ an ultra-matte finish)
  • Vermeer (iridescent shell w/ a metallic finish)
  • Buon Fresco (antique lavender w/ an ultra- matte finish)
  • Antique Bronze (metallic sable w/ a satin finish)
  • Love Letter (raspberry w/ an ultra-matte finish)
  • Cyprus Umber (dark coffee w/ an ultra-matte finish)
  • Raw Sienna (neutral amber w/ an ultra-matte finish)
  • Burnt Orange (deep orange w/ an ultra-matte finish)
  • Primavera (shimmery gold dust w/ an ultra-matte finish)
  • Red Ochre (sienna w/ an ultra-matte finish)
  • Venetian Red (crimson w/ an ultra-matte finish)
  • Warm Taupe (earthy gray w/ an ultra-matte finish)
  • Realgar (brick w/ an ultra-matte finish)

Here are my swatches:

IMG_9995

This is the top row — Tempera, Golden Ochre, Vermeer, Buon Fresco, Antique Bronze, Love Letter, and Cyprus Umber.  Our of these, I love Tempera, to use as a base, Vermeer because it’s shimmery and perfect, and Buon Fresco because it’s so different.  I am still playing with all of these, so will probably have more faves soon!

IMG_9997 The bottom row is Raw Sienna, Burnt Orange, Primavera, Red Ochre, Venetian Red, Warm Taup and Realgar.  Both Raw Sienna and Burnt Orange are gorgeous lid colors and Red Ochre is amazing in my crease.  I love Primavera because shimmers are my favorites and I used Warm Taupe on my lid today and it looked really warm and chocolatey!

I love the different tones in this.  I’m not the biggest fan of warm colors all the time, so I love that there are reds and a pretty lavender in this, plus the wonderful shimmers. There are so many looks that I can get out of this one palette.  I have a prediction that it may be my go-to palette in 2018.

Have you tried this palette?  What do you think?
