Drew Barrymore’s FLOWER Cosmetics line is an affordable way to build a great makeup look. The products are very innovative, but also work very well.

I was sent the following products for my honest review:

FLOWER That’s So Kohl! Kohl Eyeliner in Tell Me No Lilacs ($7.98 USD) Kohl It! This super luxe and creamy kohl eyeliner glides on effortlessly for the ultimate color payoff and intensity. Create the ultimate smokey eye with a built-in velvety, suede-like smudger that allows you to easily create a smokey eye; build, blend, and smudge to perfection. Medium-to-High coverage ensures the ultimate intense eye effect that will last up to 12 hours. Use the “Illu-min-eye-zer” to illuminate the eyes for a fresh, bright, look. Paraben-free, talc-free, phthalate-free, GMO-free and sulfate-free.

What I think: I used this liner to give my friend a bright smoky eye for a wedding she was going to. It was gorgeous alone, but also really nice with the palette below. Add a bit of the Pink or Gold shimmer over it or add the black for a darker look.

FLOWER Shadow Play Eye Shadow Quad in From Dusk Till Dawn ($8.98 USD) — From the new cosmetics range by Drew Barrymore, the Flower Shadow Play Eye Shadow Quad offers four gorgeous shades with color that blends evenly and flawlessly on the eyelid. Ginko biloba extract makes lids soft and supple. It smoothes and brighten delicate eyelids and gives a luminous finish.

What I think: Such a pretty palette! It can give lots of different looks, soft daytime looks and glamorous night looks. Plus, it’s long lasting when used with an eye shadow primer.

FLOWER Zoom-In Ultimate Mascara in Black ($7.98 USD) — Transforming lashes to appear dramatically longer, fuller and defined, this mascara has a unique adjustable brush that twists into 3 different shapes (on the right side of the photo) to let you customize lash volume and length. D-panthenol helps to smooth lashes and stimulate growth while rice wax provides smudge-proof color. Contains a naturally derived gellifying agent for ease in application. Ophthalmologist tested.

What I think: This is an interesting mascara. The more you turn, the shorter and twistier the brush becomes. When it is at is longest, it gives length and the shorter it gets, the more volume. I use two coats, length, then volume and my lashes look amazing!

FLOWER Transforming Touch Powder-To-Crème Blush in A-coral-ble ($12.98) — An exclusive, innovative formula that features exclusive “Liquid Powder” Technology which transforms loose powder into a crème by simply applying to the skin. The result is a flawless, airbrushed, soft-focus effect for face & cheeks. Pigments are encased by “Hydrophobic” powder and give a non-messy, mattifying, medium coverage. It is infused with essential oils to hydrate the skin and sets a quick and non-tacky finish.

What I think: Another cool product! I have used cream-to-powder blushes before, but not powder-to-cream. A little goes a long way with this product. I use it with a brush and blend it in well. So pretty on, and long-lasting.

FLOWER Kiss Stick High Shine Lip Color in Baby Buttercup ($6.98 USD) — A hero product, this high-shine luxury lipstick is infused with emollient oils to help improve shine and allow for a rich, creamy application. It will leave your lips with a pure, intense color payoff.

What I think: I usually favor lighter colors, and this is perfect for me all year round. I wear it with softer makeup in the spring, shimmery summer makeup and bold and darker looks for the fall and winter. It’s super creamy and lovely. LOVE!

What I think: The gorgeous plums and neutrals of the palette work perfectly with the berry EnergyNoir lip colors — which are my favorite items in the collection. I usually wear lighter colors on my lips, but these are so sheer and they remind me of Fall. I will definitely be wearing this collection over the next few months.

I am not much of a matte lip wearer, because they can feel dry on your lips. the matte LipSurgence leaves some moisture on the lip, which is needed during cooler weather. I like bare the most, because it is a great neutral, but tempted is nice with the EnergyNoir lip color over I. It makes a very pretty combo!

One of the most used products for me is the sculptor. The pencil is so creamy the you can draw lines all over the face and it blend seamlessly! My jaw and child benefit immensely from this pencil! I also contour my cheeks and the sides of my nose.

Glow This Summer With New Makeup

For me, summer makeup is all about the glow! As long as I have great self-tanning, bronzing, highlighting and lip balms, I can get out the door quickly looking fresh for the day!

Below are some of my new favorites:

Jane Iredale Golden Shimmer Face and Body Lotion ($32 USD)uses diamond dust from pure mica to impart an irresistible golden glow and subtle veil of shimmer that warms and smoothes the complexion. What I think: A little goes a long way with the Golden Shimmer lotion. Just a dab gives gorgeous, shimmery color that looks so pretty in the sun! I like to use it as a highlight on my eyes and cheeks and on my legs for extra glow. The LipDrink is an extremely hydrating balm! I like to use the sheer for evenings and the gym, the Crush and Buff are great for an extra bit of color with the hydration.

What I think: The bronzers are so beautiful, I love the park avenue princess shade, it’s almost a golden bronze. The matte is great for contouring, but I think the shimmer shade is my favorite. I sweep it on my cheekbones and forehead and it makes a lovely eye shadow.

The self tanning face towelettes technically aren’t makeup, but they do keep my skin bronze and glowing all day! They are so easy to use! I apply them at night, and by morning, my skin is bronzed. Plus, I love the natural ingredients.

What I think: The foundation drops are light, but full-coverage, perfect for easy summer skin. I have been testing them in Light, and the color is perfect for my skin tone. The foundation brush applies them flawlessly.

My favorite Doll 10 product of the three. It is so gorgeous! I use the blush for my cheeks and the highlighter all over! I also use the stick highlighter up and sweep it across my eyelids — the perfect summer eye shadow. Plus, there is a lip gloss in the bottom of the stick. And it is such a pretty pinky-nude. My favorite shade (while my skin is not too tanned) is Kiss & Make up. It also comes in a deeper shade called Love at First Sight.

Face Stockholm Summer 2014 — Like the dark steel gray of an impending thunderstorm on a hot summer day, our look for summer is stormy and mysterious with a strong emphasis on the vivid Matte Orange lip. From the FACE Stockholm website, here is how to achieve the look:

For a clean and hydrated look for summer, start with FACE Stockholm BB Natural Beauty Balm ($38 USD). This can be applied with clean fingertips or a makeup brush (try FACE Stockholm Foundation Brush #34) for a flawless finish. For a more matte look, lightly dust with FACE Stockholm Loose Powder ($26 USD).

Using FACE Stockholm Chisel Contour Brush #5, apply FACE Stockholm Blush ($20 USD) in Sun-Kissed from the apples of the cheek to the temples.

Create a warm, smoky eye. As a base, apply Krämögonskugga in Chintz ($24 USD) all over the lid. Then, using FACE Stockholm Blender Brush #39, apply Granit Matte Shadow ($20 USD) on top, being sure to blend well. For a more dramatic look, add a sweep of Platina Matte Shadow ($20 USD) on the outer third of lid. Finally, define the lower lash line with Granit Matte Shadow using our Angular Sable Brush #13.

Get Your Beauty Routine Ready For Summer, Part 1

I have been so lucky to receive lots of awesome skincare, hair care and makeup samples lately from so many different, fab brands to review for my honest opinion. So exciting!

The one common thread in these products is that they are a good change-up to my routine. Winter was so long this year, and spring very short that my makeup products haven’t changed much. But now that it is HOT in Kansas City (90 and humid) — I am ready to give easy, breezy summer beauty a go, while still looking and feeling put together.

For the rest of this week, I will review the products that I have been using and let you know why I love them so much. This post will include lovely skin care from Orico London, Stri-Vectin and summer-loving makeup from Gerard Cosmetics, Skindinavia and BeautyADDICTS.

Orico London Transcend Marine Radiance Serum

What I think: I’ve been using this serum for about a week and am really enjoying it. The serum is a pearly-pinkish opal color, very iridescent and cool. I’ve never seen a serum like it. What I think: I have been using this cream at night-time as a treatment. It has a bit of a minty scent to it and it is a little thick, but not greasy. And boy does it work! I have noticed that my skin is so much smoother and even-toned. And my forehead wrinkles are smoother, too. Yay!

Gerard Cosmetics BB Plus+ Illumination Facial Crème ($36 USD) — Golden, radiant and healthy skin has always been a girl’s best summer accessory. What I think: This is a really pretty cream. I tried it on my cheekbones and my brow bone like a normal highlighter, and I liked it, but it was a bit sparkly for me to use all over my face. My 18 year-old daughter wore it all over hers and looked like a golden beach babe — oh, youth! So I gave it to her and she loves it! And I love that it has skincare benefits!

Tired of Winter? Freshen Your Look With Fresh New Makeup

I am wearing sparkling raspberry and gold nail polish for Valentine’s Day. I love the rich colors and the glitz, but I am starting to yearn for warmer weather and softer colors of clothes and makeup!

I really love the shade Golden Mist. It is a limited edition shade that is so pretty swept across my whole eyelid, with our without a contour color.

Bobbi Brown’s Nude Glow Collection features three sets of products designed to add luminosity and brighten your look during the winter months.

In the above photo, you can see the Limited Eye Palettes in Crystal, Nude and Bronze and the Sheer Lip Color in Pink Flush, Pink Gold and Pink Rose. These are the products from the collection I tested.

What I think: The eye palettes are gorgeous. I love layering a sparkly color over a shimmer or matte. So pretty for going out. The Lip colors are sheer and pretty! I love the Pink Gold, but they are all gorgeous!

Tarte’s spring collection is full of beautiful, fresh hues and products. There are eight beautiful shades of the cheek stain (Fearless, a pink-coral is my favorite) and eight matching shades in the Power Pigment lip crayon. The colors are all gorgeous!

The Spring collection also includes the be MATTEnificent colored clay eye & cheek palette. This includes fresh, pretty colors. I haven’t tried the palette, but I might have to pick it up!

What I think: Beautiful colors for any complexion and the formulas stay all day. Love!

What I think: I have tried other Meaningful Beauty products in the past and have really liked them, especially the cleanser! So, I was really excited to try this serum.

The serum is thick, and almost had the feel of a primer. When applied, it sinks right into my skin and leaves it feeling smooth and looking more even. I used it (all) for a few weeks and really like what it did to my skin, and was upset when it was empty! I feel that it made my fine lines less noticeable and my skin tone smooth and even. Great Product!

I was sent a sample of this collection for my honest review. I really love what this does to my skin! The primer serum is so different! You can apply it with the brush, but I like using my fingers. And it smells fantastic, a little like lavender.

Now, Bye Bye Under Eye is already my favorite concealer, but it usually comes in a tube. I love this combo with the highlighter and with the wand applicators. So good!

I like the normal Celebration Foundation, but it is a little too matte for me. This illumination is great. The shade I received is medium, and its a bit dark for my skin tone. But I can tell that it will give a more moisturized look and a great glow. The foundation brush is so soft and gives a flawless finish!
