The Body Shop has released a new firming skin care line called Natrulift. As with all of the Body Shop products, Natrulift contains natural, organic and Community Trade ingredients. This makes the products as good for our environment as they are for the skin! Some of the products I’ve tried are:

Natrulift Softening Facial Wash ($14.00 3.38 oz) — Best if you want to: Minimize the signs of aging and create a velvety-looking complexion with a softly-cleansing and refreshing facial wash. How it works:

Daily cleansing is the first step to beautifully soft and smooth skin, removing impurities and preparing the skin for daily moisturizer.
Pomegranate seed oil moisturizes skin and is rich in antioxidants to help minimize the damage cause by environmental aggressors.
Community Trade Brazil nut oil moisturizes and softens skin.

What I think: This is a fantastic face wash! When I first squeeze a bit out, it is very creamy, pearly and smells like pomegranates. So far, so good, right? Then I smooth it on my skin, gently massaging it in and rinse it. My skin is soft and looks smooth, too!

Natrulift Firming Serum ($36.00 1 oz) — Best if you want to: Minimize signs of aging and leave skin feeling firmer and more toned with a hydrating serum. How it works:

Has a temporary lifting effect: skin is plumper and hydrated.
Pomegranate seed oil moisturizes skin and is rich in antioxidants to help minimize the damage cause by environmental aggressors.
Organic Community Trade honey moisturizes and conditions skin.

What I think: This is my favorite product of the line. It is like a dose of instant gratification as immediately makes my skin look more even, smoother and lifted — and yes, younger! I apply this morning and night time before moisturizer. It is light and not sticky like some serums.

Natrulift Firming Day Cream ($30.00 1.7 oz) — Best if you want to: Minimize fine lines, smooth wrinkles and leave skin feeling firmer and hydrated with a day cream that moisturizes for up to 12 hours. How it works:

Has a temporary lifting effect: skin is plumper and hydrated.
Pomegranate seed oil moisturizes skin and is rich in antioxidants to help minimize the damage cause by environmental aggressors.
Community Trade Brazil nut oil moisturizes and softens skin.

What I think: This cream on top of the serum really firms and smooths the skin. It is almost the consistency of a balm, though, and may be too heavy for day time for some skin. If your skin is naturally dry, or dry in the winter like mine, this will be a perfect day cream.

Grassroots Research Labs Triple Mushroom Intensive Anti-Wrinkle Cream

I try a lot of anti-aging skincare. I haven’t tried Grassroots Research Labs – or any skincare brand sold at Kohl’s – and didn’t know what to expect. I can say now that I have been using it for a few weeks, I love it! But before I explain why, check out the product info first:

What I think: This is a light and airy cream that feels like a drink of moisture on my skin. I’m always afraid to use creams (instead of a lighter lotion) on my face in the summer, since my skin is oilier at this time of the year. This cream is not greasy or heavy and feels fantastic when I use it at night. I notice that my skin seems glowy and smoother right after I apply it. I don’t have tons of wrinkles, so I can’t say if it reduces wrinkles, but I can say that my skin looks better after I use it.

What think: The roller application is fantastic, especially in the summer, it feels so cool — almost cold — on my face. I also just roll the applicator under my eyes without the product for the cool feeling it gives. The formula is also fabulous. The glow that you get is so subtle and pretty. I like to apply this to my cheeks, nasal-labial lines, and forehead. It really does give the appearance of youth, because my lines appear smaller. I apply it under my makeup in the morning and sometimes in the afternoon over my makeup. So nice!

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Serum

Ladies (and gents), if you are over 30, it’s time to try a serum? Don’t want to add an extra step? I understand, but I think a good anti-aging serum is such and important step in skincare. The reason is that you can find one that will greatly help your aging skin improve. There are serums that help lift the skin, reduce the appearance of pore size and diminish fine lines and wrinkles. Plus many serums include vitamins and antioxidants that will make your skin healthier.

I love that so many new skincare companies use natural ingredients and limit the use of preservatives. Boscia is a brand based in Yokohama, Japan, that creates preservative-free, botanically-based skincare. I have recently tried some of these wonderful products and they make my skin look as beautiful as the natural ingredients they use to make them!

What I think: I really love this light and soothing eye cream. I have been using it every morning and every night. Like all eye creams, I smooth it under my eye, at the outer corner of my eye and under my eyebrow. It is absorbed into my skin very quickly and leaves my eyes looking lifted and awake. Over time, it has diminished the dark circles under my eyes, which are my main area of concern around my eyes.

What I think: I enjoy many things about these products. First they are fragrance-free, which shows that they don’t think adding unneeded extras is important. The cleanser suds up nicely and really cleans my skin without leaving it dry. The lifting serum instantly smooths out my skin and does make me look younger while cream hydrates so well. I have to be careful not to put too much serum on, or my face gets sticky. One and a half pumps seems to work the best.

What I think: These shadows are soft and pretty, but not extremely pigmented. They are appropriate for daytime and the office. I do notice that my eyelids look smoother when I am wearing the shadow, but if I don’t apply an eye base or concealer, they wear off very quickly.
