My Beauty Favorites — Week of March 14-20, 2016

Happy Spring! We have had a really warm winter in Kansas City, and of course it is freezing today and snowed last night!

But, I am still looking forward to warmer weather to come. This week I have been loving products to make my skin glow and prepare my skin for Spring:

PRAI Dark Circle Corrector ($24.95 USD) — Instantly reduces dark circles under and around the eye. Camouflages and reduces the appearance of dark, under eye circles, crow’s feet and puffiness.

What I think: This has a soft tint to it, to help brighten the under eye area. I apply it with the application brush and gently blend it in. I notice that my skin looks brighter and smoother. I think this works really well under concealer.

Veil Cosmetics Sunset Light ($59 USD) — A primer, serum and mixing base all in one, Sunset Light is a fluid filter that helps skin achieve the perfecting & smoothing radiance emanated at sunset. What I think: This is an amazing multi-tasking product! It brightens and smoothes skin, and it the perfect base for makeup. It is also really pretty worn alone, if you are not is the mood for wearing makeup. But makeup does go on so smoothly over this.

Masque Bar by Look Beauty Brightening Sheet Mask ($9.99 for three masks) is a face brightening housed in a facial sheet mask that helps minimize the appearance of dark spots and various pigmentation irregularities for a more even complexion and radiant skin thanks to ingredients like Orange Extract, Licorice Root and Vitamin C.

What I think: This is so easy to use, place on clean skin, smooth it on and leave on for 20-30 minutes. This mask does have flaps that you can put over your eyes (eyes closed) for help for eyes as well! It’s nice to lay down, close my eyes and relax — at least for a few minutes! After I remove the mask and rub in the extra serum, my skin is so glowy!

What I think: I was so excited to try this, but I wasn’t quite sure how it worked. I found that it is quick and easy to use. I apply cleanser on my skin, then wet the FOREO and turn it on. I then move it in circles around my face. I can feel the sonic waves and I also feel it cleaning my pores, but it is very soft and gentle. I can turn the power up for a more vigorous cleansing and turn it down to clean around my eyes. After I am done, my skin is so smooth! I have only been using it for a couple of weeks and my skin is much softer and smoother.

It is also so easy to clean, just rinse it off! I LOVE that I don’t have to replace brush heads. Plus, it is easy to charge!

I am loving this and will continue to use it.

LovelySkin LUXE Gentle Cream Cleanser ($40, on sale now for $32) — LovelySkin LUXE Gentle Cream Cleanser removes makeup while soothing the skin. You can cleanse, soothe and soften with this face wash. Made with meadowfoam seed extract and olive oil extract, this gentle cleanser leaves the complexion comfortable and glowing. After use, skin feels clean, hydrated and healthy.

What I think: I apply this to my face with a little water before I use my FOREO. It is so gentle on my sensitive skin and cleans without drying out. It works amazing with the device, but also works well without it. My skin glows when I use it and feels soft and hydrated.

My Beauty Favorites — Week of March 7-13, 2016

Happy Daylight Savings! Did you remember to set your clocks forward? I guess most electronics set themselves forward these days. It does seem a lot earlier than it is right now.

The longer days and warmer weather has me anticipating Spring all the more! I have been lightening my look with brighter colors and trying amazing new products. My favorites this week include a hydrating facial mist, pastel nail polishes, a product to thicken my eyelashes and bright, moisturizing lipstick. What I think: This is a really cool way to achieve longer and thicker lashes. It’s pretty easy to use too. To apply, I brush on a coat of the Transplanting Gel to lashes. Next I apply the Natural Fibers while the Transplanting Gel is wet. Then another coat of the gel to seal it. You can repeat this until you get the look you want. And believe me, you can get a really dramatic look! This can be used for day or night looks.

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone had a great week. It was warm in Kansas City today and I loved it!

This week I am loving effective skincare. Now that I’m out of the cold air, I feel my skin is looking and feeling better. And, the products below are definitely helping!

What I think: This is such a fluffy cream! I apply it over my serum at night and it sinks right into my skin. Many night treatments are so heavy, but this one is light, but does really moisturize. In the morning, my skin is so soft. I am going to continue to use and hope to see lightening of dark spots.

Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare Recapture Day + IR Defense Anti-Aging Cream SPF 30 ($69 USD) — is formulated with a bio-copper complex that helps correct the most visible signs of aging. What I think: I always either use a moisturizer with SPF daily or a sunscreen. I love this product because it is a multi-tasker. It also really hydrates my skin without being heavy. I have tried this before and I’ve noticed that my skin tone is smoother and firmer with continuous use.

But, I have to admit, there is something about trying luxe, high-end skincare. The packaging is gorgeous and the products usually smell and feel amazing.

What I think: Is your skin parched? Use this trio, then go to sleep. You will wake up with very soft skin! I LOVE the melting cleanser. I like to apply it dry to my skin, rub it in, then remove it (and my makeup) with a damp cloth. My skin is clean and so soft! I love a moisturizing mask because they can calm my redness, this one is no exception. I applied it, left it on for 10 minutes, and my skin was smooth.

The moisturizer is a drink of water for dry skin. It instantly softens and hydrates. I love that it works overnight to deliver moisture by morning. There are other products in the collection, so check them out!

He also liked the shaving cream. He is used to shaving cream that foams, but he said that this worked just as well and that he got a smooth shave.

I was sent this collection and have been using it in the morning for a couple of weeks. Here are the products:

What I think: I love all three of these products. They are very easy to use (no water needed!), and leave my skin very soft. I like to use the cleanser day and night. Micellar waters have become my daily go-to, because you pour on a pad then wipe the face. They are easy, work well and provide skincare benefits.

I also follow it up with the toner to keep my skin clean and clear. It also leaves it moisturized and not dry.

The moisturizer is amazing! It is light enough to use in the day time under makeup, but really keeps my skin soft and firm. It also doubles as a night cream if you need a light moisturizer.

I use all types of makeup, but especially cream makeup. I make sure to include an SPF if my makeup doesn’t have sunscreen. The scent of the toner and moisturizer are VERY lemony. The cleanser has a softer citrus scent. The lemon products are a little strong, but the benefits of the system outweigh the scent.

What I think: First of all I love the soft, warms scent of these products. The serum absorbs quickly into my skin and instantly my skin seems smoother. The eye cream also instantly hydrates my skin. I love applying it all around my eye area, morning and night. Actually I use serums and eye creams both morning and night (and I am still wrinkle free)!

The night cream is probably my favorite product of the three. It also sinks right into the skin and leaves it so soft! I also use it on my neck (which could use some lifting and firming, too)! It has a wonderful texture, I am so happy that it is not a thick night cream. Some night creams are so heavy on, but not this one! I love using it every night!

I have been using these products for about a month, and my skin does seem a bit firmer. I will continue using it to see if there is even more improvement over time.
