Kansas City has an amazing new candy invention to try! Magic Candy Factory has taken root inside of Go! Calendars, Games & Toys inside of Oak Park Mall. And it is so cool!
This is a 3D gummy candy printer. It prints edible words and shapes. Here is the machine:
The Magic Candy Factory is based on FDM (fused deposition modeling.) In this case, a special mixture of natural ingredients is heated up and applied using a nozzle. The results are different shapes and a unique choice of combinations which combine to create the custom masterpiece and are instantly ready to eat. The shapes were developed by the Katjes team with the help of 3D modelling software and turned into G-codes. The latter tell the printer where, at what speed and what frequency it needs to apply each of the layers.
The plug n’ play operating system guarantees quick installation and ease of use for the operator and consumer. This model also includes an important feature for the final customer. A camera is installed in every printer which records the printing process precisely. In e-mails, customers don’t just receive shipping confirmation after production, but time-lapse videos of their own personal treats in the making.

Besides enjoying the fun 3D shapes, the candy is so good! Available flavors include Gorgeous Green Apple, Luscious Lemon, Tasty Tropical Blue, Sublime Strawberry, Marvelous Mango, Elegant Elderberry, Beautiful Blackcurrant and Ripe Raspberry. And you can have finish such as edible glitter and fizzy candy on top!

The lipstick is smooth when it goes on. I can tell it’s a gel, it’s consistancy is not very creamy. But it feels nice on and lasts. The lip gloss is my favorite. It’s not sticky at all and it is so long lasting!

Today, October 26th, Natural Grocers had their grand opening in Liberty, Missouri. I got to check it out last night at an invite-only event.
I have never been to a Natural Grocers store before and was excited to attend. I learned that the chain has been around since 1955! Their Five Founding Principles are: Nutrition Education, Highest Quality Products, Affordable Pricing, Commitment to their Community and Commitment to their Employees.
It’s not a huge store, but it carries entirely organic products and a lot of vitamins and supplements. About a 4th of the store was aisles of vitamins! And there is someone there who can help with those needs.
I (of course) was most impressed by the fairly large beauty section:
It was so nice! There was a lot of makeup, skincare, hair care and body care. They carry wonderful brands such as Mineral Fusion (above), Burt’s Bees, Acure Organics, EcoTools and much more!
I even bought a facial mask:
This is a Instant Brightening Mask by Andalou Naturals. It is their Pumpkin & Honey face mask. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m going to this weekend.
We also purchased a few groceries:
We purchased free range eggs, root beer, bratwurst, delicious Thai Kitchen meals, chips, etc. Yum!
I definitely will visit this store when I am in Liberty (about 20 minutes away from my home). The vitamins were affordable, and I need to check out the beauty section when my husband is not with me (he he). The meats were a bit pricey, but they are organic.

What I think: I LOVE this luxe lotion! It is unscented, which many people need because of fragrance allergies. I like a fragranced lotion usually, but this one is so nice! It is moisturizing, but sinks right into the skin leaving it very soft. Great for after shaving, or just after a nice shower. I also like to apply it to my feet at night.

What I think: This smells amazing! I use it as my moisturizer a few days a week, because it is so quick to use and leaves my hair so soft! I love that it has natural ingredients in it, too.
