What I think: An amazing mascara that lengthens, curls and thickens lashes. Hot New Product — Hourglass Aura Sheer Cheek Stain

I have been excited to try Hourglass’s new Aura Sheer Cheek Stain ($45.00 USD). I have seen ads for it for the last few weeks, and it is even a featured new product on the Sephora website.

So does it live up to the hype, you ask? I think so.

The Aura Cheek Stain is a water-based stain that give cheeks a subtle lit-from-within glow and to last all day. Spring makeup is about looking effortlessly beautiful, and this product embodies this by being so easy to apply. Aura’s unique click mechanism dispenses the perfect amount of product for convenient on-the-go application, and has a sponge applicator which makes it easy to blend.

This product is enriched with Vitamin E to help improve skin’s moisture retention and is free of oil, fragrance, and phthalates. Available in three shades: Rouge (sheer rose); Flush (sheer red); Petal (sheer pink/coral shimmer). I have tested Petal and love the color. It is a soft pinky coral with a subtle shimmer. Hourglass Debuts New Fall Products at Fashion’s Night Out

Introducing the luxury brand Hourglass Cosmetics’ Fall 2010 launches – Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara and a brand new lipstick collection – Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick.

Both were a collaboration between Hourglass founder Carisa Janes and Artistic Director Gina Brooke. In case you are not familiar with Gina, she is Madonna’s makeup artist and has worked with a lot of other A-list celebrities such as Anne Hathaway and Naomi Campbell. The new products are:

Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick ($30.00 USD) is a collection of 12 gorgeous shades of hydrating lipsticks that are paraben-free. Each lipstick features an embossed Hourglass icon and comes in an engraved case that is refillable. The richly pigmented formula of Femme Rouge adds fullness and luster, immediately shaping and softening lips for a plush, cushiony effect. Shades include vibrant reds, creamy nudes, hot pinks and more.

What I think: This lipstick is very creamy and soft when you apply it. I own it in Edition, which is described as a soft neutral pink shimmer. This is a very flattering shade and it makes my lips look plush and full when I wear it. Beautiful!

Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara ($28.00 USD) adds instant drama to lashes without clumping or flaking. Film Noir’s signature hourglass-shaped brush is designed for optimal application, adding volume, length, lift, and separation to lashes. The intense concentration of Panthenol (ProVitamin B5) adds a reflective, jet-black sheen for dramatic impact.

What I think: As I said before on this blog, I have short, sparse lashes. In just one coat, this mascara made my lashes look twice as long and twice as thick! The formula is buildable so you can add even more drama with each coat you apply. This does not make lashes clump and does not flake or smear during the day. Awesome mascara!!!

Hourglass Artistic Director Gina Brooke led an exciting choreographed makeup show with two other makeup artists. Set to music, three models were meticulously and fluidly transformed into beautiful faces of art. The Luxurious Look of Hourglass Cosmetics

Hourglass Cosmetics is a luxurious line that combines quality products and extravagant style. Over the last year, I have become a big fan of face primers. A really good one can even out skin tone, make pores appear smaller and you may not even need a lot of makeup on top of it. After I apply it, I only need a little concealer and powder (and the bronzer below) and my complexion looks fantastic!

The Veil Mineral Primer contains naturally derived Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide that protects the skin from UVA/UVB rays. It is also oil-free, fragrance-free, paraben-free and water-resistant.

The Prodigy Hydrating Lip Gloss ($26.00 USD) is a sheer, non-sticky gloss that comes in a slim package that can fit in a pocket or clutch. It contains Vitamin E to moisturize the lips and is water-resistant. Prodigy is available in 6 shades: I have Surreal which is a light, shimmery bronze that is perfect for summer.

New this month is the Illume Bronzer in Sunset, a duo of a golden bronze/rosy pink in a cream-to-powder formula that is housed in signature 360º swivel compact with rotating mirror. This is such a beautiful all-purpose product that will be perfect for the summer. Of course, it is a great bronzer and blush; the colors are natural and so pretty. But they can also be used as eye shadow and even as lip color with a little clear gloss on top.

Illume is oil-free and wax-free and includes vitamins A & E and antioxidants to hydrate and protect skin. It is also fragrance and paraben free.
