ColourPop Golden State Of Mind Pressed Powder Shadow Palette

img_0016.jpg

I have another Colourpop Palette from my early January haul to review.  I have reviewed almost all of the palettes I received.

This is the Golden State of Mind palette .  This is usually $26, but is on sale now for $20.  I think most of the site that isn’t on sale is 20% off if you spend over $50 right now.  That code is GET20.  I don’t think this is included since it’s already on sale.

This beauty is made up of metallic and shimmer shades.  It’s super sparkly and gorgeous!  I was very lucky because I picked it up at a time where if I spent $50, I got this palette for free.  Here are the shades from top to bottom:

Golden Egg: pinky beige with turquoise glitter
Pay the Piper: icy blue
GRLFRND: pink with violet glitter
Zero Clue: vibrant warm yellow
Watch Out: golden ivory with pink glitter
Drizzle: icy baby pink
Uptight: rose gold
Can’t Stop: icy champagne ivory
Sparkler: silvery bronze
Unsupervised: pink champagne
Lust in Time: medium cool rose
Mind Tricks: icy blackened purple
Wing Woman: red brown with green and gold glitter
Heads or Tales: icy cranberry
Tinker Time: blackened antique gold with blue glitter

I thought the first row of pastels was going to be my favorite, but I love this last row.  The colors are so gorgeous and dramatic.  These swatch so nicely.  I thought they needed to be applied with a finger because a brush wouldn’t pick up the pigment, but if I dig in with a harder brush, I can apply them pretty well.  Fingers do work, though!

What surprised be about this palette is that I thought I would use it as an accent to other shadows, especially mattes.  But, I have been able to create complete, if shimmery, looks. They are nice used with mattes, though!

I do like this palette.  It is not one I reach for daily, but it’s nice for weekends and speciall occasions.

I’d have to say pressed powder palettes are my favorite ColourPop products.  What’s yours?

ColourPop You Had Me At Hello Palette Review

img_0221.jpg

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, can you believe it?  I like to do a makeup look with pinks and reds, or similar colors on Valentine’s Day.  So I thought this would be the perfect time to review this palette!

This is the ColourPop You Had Me At Hello eye shadow palette.  It’s only $18 and comes with a mirror! I purchased this at the end of December in a ColourPop haul.

You can tell by the messy palette that I have been using this palette a lot! The shades are:

The Knot: metallic cool-toned ivory
Moon Struck: metallic soft gold
Two Peas: matte peachy beige
Candygram: metallic pinky red with gold duochrome
Winning Ticket: matte dusty mauve pink
FBO: metallic pink violet
Look-See: matte cool-toned plum
Fool’s Rush: metallic golden bronze

These shades are all so gorgeous and versatile.  The mattes are really creamy in the palette and all of the shadows are well pigmented.  I think it would be perfect if it had a light, matte shade.  But, this will make a gorgeous Valentine’s look!

Have you tried this palette, or any others from ColourPop?

ColourPop I Think I Love You Palette Review

IMG_0009IMG_0196

This photo cracks me up!  The palette cover is so reflective that it shows my phone!  This is the very shiny ColourPop I Think I Love You eye shadow palette ($16 USD).  I received it in a big ColourPop Haul I did at the end of December.  It’s actually my 18 year old daughter’s.  She let me swatch and review it (I did pay for it)!

These are the shade names, and here are the colors:

img_0206.jpg

The colors all swatched really well and are gorgeous!  My daughter wanted it for the metallic yellow gold color, but I lie the beautiful bronzes and lighter, shimmery colors.  I wouldn’t have picked this myself, but I love it (and will be borrowing it).  I can make gorgeous day and night looks with this!

Do you have any ColourPop palettes?  Which ones are your favorites?

ColourPop Fem Rosa She Palette Review

IMG_0266IMG_0268IMG_0267 I have recently purchased a bunch of Colourpop pressed eye shadow palettes.  I was going to start reviewing them, but I remembered that I hadn’t reviewed my She palette yet!  I purchased it a few months ago and have kept it in the box waiting for a review, LOL!
This is no longer available on Colourpop’s website, but there are many other gorgeous palettes available now.
IMG_0269IMG_0270 The packaging of this is very pretty, I love the reddish color and the roses.  Here are the shades from left to right, top to bottom row:
Ladylike — metallic soft ivory
Babe — satin light peachy pink
Dainty — metallic pinky taupe
Chick — metallic subtle gold
Mademoiselle — metallic rose gold
Gal — metallic red with copper duochrome
Empress — metallic mid-tone pink plum
Filly — metallic rusty orange
Dear — matte warm rose
Missy — matte deep burgundy
Damsel — matte smokey violet
Duchess — matte dusty coral
IMG_0274IMG_0272IMG_0273
As my swatches show, these have really great pigment, especially the mattes.  There are more metallics than mattes.  I’m okay with that, but I really wish there was a light cream matte and maybe a medium neutral matte.  But many gorgeous looks can be made with these.  Plus, with Valentine’s Day coming soon, a romantic pink, red or purpley look will be perfect!
I really am enjoying this palette, and now that I have found it again, I intend on using it more.
Do you have the She palette?  What do you think of it?

Colourpop Holiday Sale Haul!

IMG_0001

First, I want to say that I got all of these amazing products on sale at Colourpop!  Today is the last day for the sale.  Almost all items are 20%, 30% or 40% off.  So shop now!

I had a little bit of Christmas money left (after buying tons for others), so I decide to take advantage of this sale.  I purchased on Christmas Day, and the Golden State of Mind palette was free if you spent $50.  So I did!

I mostly went for eye shadow palettes because Colourpop’s palettes are stunning and affordable!  I only had Yes, PIease! (reviewed here) and She (review coming) before these new beauties.

I haven’t swatched these yet, so let me know is you would like a review of any of these products.

Here are the items I chose:

LEGIT AF Highlighter Trio ($24 on sale for $14.40) — These Super Shock Highlighters include Over the Moon a sheer opalescent pearl with hot pink and violet glitters, Spoon A light silver champagne with multi-dimensional glitter and Wisp a golden champagne with gold pearls.  They are all really pretty, but quite a bit of glitter!

IMG_0005

BRINK Lippie Stix ($5 on sale for $4) — This looks darker than I thought it would be.  It’as a matte terracotta rose, so it is really pretty.  I love how hydrating these lippie sticks are, even with the matte finish.

I THINK I LOVE YOU ($16 on sale for $12.80) — My 18 year old daughter chose this palette.  It is warm and bronzy, but she told me she wanted the yellow-gold shade on the bottom.  Maybe it reminders her of Fenty’s Trophy Wife???  Even though it’s hers I might ask if I can play with it, because the colors are super gorgeous! Here are the shades:

Bitter Better: metallic soft gold
Bel Air: matte cool taupe
Fancy Face: metallic bright red copper
Girls Bite: metallic golden bronze
Howdy: metallic red bronze

GOLDEN STATE OF MIND ($26 on sale for $15.60) — this is one that is also sold on Sephora.com.  This is a really glittery palette, all shimmers and glitters! This formula is really creamy and I find it best applied with my fingers or a damp brush. I received this free with my $50 purchase.

Golden Egg: pinky beige with turquoise glitter
Pay the Piper: icy blue
GRLFRND: pink with violet glitter
Zero Clue: vibrant warm yellow
Watch Out: golden ivory with pink glitter
Drizzle: icy baby pink

So that’s my recent Colourpop Haul! I have just starting playing with these beauties, but will probably be review them soon!

Colourpop Haul — Featuring the Yes, Please! Palette!!!

I did some Colourpop shopping a few weeks ago.  I’ve been wanting to try their pressed shadows and since I got an email saying that the Yes, Please! palette was back in stock, I went for it!

Here’s a better look at everything I purchased:

Besides Yes, Please!, I got a buy 2 get one free liquid lip colour sale. I bought one satin lip, one regular glossy, and one metallic glossy.  I also purchased a Supershock shadow to bring my total up to $30 for free shipping.

And, lucky for me, Colourpop was also having a grab bag giveaway for their 5 million Instagram followers.  I got to choose 2 out of 5 free products that were made just for the event!

Right now (Sept 22nd), Yes, Please! is restocked — so go purchase it if you’d like! It’s $16 USD.

I was really surprised how small the palette is. It can fit in my hand!  But that’s fine, it still gives lots of color choices and it is enough product for me.

The colors are:

Full-Zip: matte warm ivory
Big Cocktails: matte orange
Champs: matte pale peachy nude
Bling: metallic rust
Louie: metallic duochrome red with a gold flip
Butter Cake: metallic pale yellow gold
Spoiled: matte brick red
Gno: matte burnt orange
Mischief: matte warm yellow
Note to Self: matte warm caramel
Chauffeur: metallic duochrome bright orange with a gold flip
French Kiss: matte deep red brown

The colors swatched so easily!  The mattes are very buttery.  Which is great, because chalky mattes really bug me.  As someone who’s older, a chalky eye is not great, it emphasizes wrinkles.

Since this was the first time I tried Colourpop’s pressed shadows, I didn’t know what to expect.  I am really happy with the pigmentation and formula.  They are really pretty on, too!

The Lip Colors I got are Aquarius Ultra Glossy, a soft pinky nude in a crème finish, My Jam Ultra Glossy, a golden nude metallic and 951 Ultra Satin, a mid-tone warm nude.  Ultra Satin is my favorite Coulourpop finish, but I hadn’t tried Ultra Glossies yet, so I thought I would pick a couple up!

I purchased the Super Shock Shadow in Reversible, a satin goldy beige.  Next to it is Party of Five Super Shock Shadow, a pale rose gold with pink shimmer and Super Shock Highlighter in High Five, a mauve with a golden shift. Those I received free in Colourpop’s 5 million instagram followers giveaway.  There were 5 items to choose from.  I qualified to receive two.  The rest were lip colors, but I wanted to try something different (I have lots of Colourpop lips)!

Here are the swatches of the lips, blush and eyes.  Left to right is 951, My Jam, Aquarius, High Five, Party of Five and Reversible.

951 is perfect for Fall.  It’s a bit dark for me, but I think it will be great for going out.  My Jam is so pretty on!  It’s subtle for a metallic and the color is very autumnal.  I think it will look amazing over 951!

High Five is so pretty, but I almost think of it as a blush, more than a highlighter. I usually wear more neutral highlighters, but it is very pretty and sparkly.  Both Party of Five and Reversible will look great this Fall.  I’m going to try to get my 17 year old to wear Party of Five to her boyfriend’s homecoming tomorrow.  It would match her dress really well, but she isn’t that into makeup (I know!)

I think I got quite a haul for a little over $30!  I usually love to shop Colourpop when they have great deals and free gifts.  They are so affordable anyway, this is even better.

Do you like Colourpop?  What have you purchased from them lately?

September 2017 Boxycharm Review

I received my September BoxyCharm and am so excited!  This is my second month (you can see my August Boxycharm review here).  It’s definitely one of my favorite beauty boxes and is worth the $21 per month!

Boxycharm contains 5-6 beauty items, most of them full-sized. It ships to the US and Canada.

This month, I received:

PUR Cosmetics Soiree Diaries Eyeshadow Palette – $34

ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip in Littlestitious – $6

MAC Cosmetics Eyebrow Pencil in Spiked – $18

Studio Makeup Luminous Loose Blush – $35

bareMinerals Perfecting Face Brush – $28

Briogeo Don’t Despair Repair Hair Mask – 2 oz $18

This is a gorgeous warm and cool toned neutral palette.  The first row are mattes, the second are satins and the third, shimmers.

I have been using this for the past couple of days and I really like it.  There’s a little kick up in the pan, but not a lot.  They suggest using each vertical row of three for a complete eye look.  I haven’t yet, but that’s a good suggestion.  So far, I really love Private Party, Gala and Stunner.  The glitters are nice when applied with my finger, but don’t show up well if I apply them with my brush.  They are so pretty, though!

Swatches can be found at the end of this post of all the colored makeup I received.

Colourpop’s Ultra Satin Lip is my favorite formula of theirs.  I have a Colourpop haul review coming up next week with more of these lovelies!

The texture of the is creamy and it applies very evenly.  It dries down a bit to a semi-matte, but stays hydrating all day.  This color is so pretty.  It’s described on the Colourpop website as dusty pinky purple, but it stains my lips a pretty berry color.  Love!

The MAC Eye Brow pencil is in the shade Spike, a rich brunette. It is listed as self-propelling and self-sharpening.  I had to press down hard to get the swatch below.  I haven’t tried it on my brows yet, but I hope it works better on hair.  The color matches my dark brown hair, which is nice.

The Studio Makeup blush is in a pretty peachy-pink color. There is a lot of blush in the container.  I swatched it below.  It’s fairly matte with a little shimmer.  I may give it away because I switch to a darker blush in the fall, but we’ll see.

I have been wanting to try this brush for a while!  It has a fluid reservoir (hole) in the middle to put foundation in.  Then buff the brush on the face to blend in the foundation.  I’ve tried it already and it works really well!

The Briogeo mask is a “weekly treatment to restore essential hydration and enhance hair’s resilience and strength.”  I haven’t tried it yet, but I hope it works well!

This month’s Boxycharm was a big win for me!  I’ll use the eyeshadows, lip color, brush and hair mask.  I’ll try the eye brow pencil.  The only item I probably won’t use is the blush.

Do you get Boxycharm? What did you think?
